Meet Erin Rayburn
Founder & Clinical Director
Erin established a private practice in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2010 and founded Chattanooga’s first equine-assisted psychotherapy program with Georgiana Pollock at Rock Bluff Stables on Lookout Mountain. She quickly became known as one of Chattanooga’s top therapists specializing in EMDR for treating trauma and sexual abuse, as well as eating disorders.
Currently, Erin focuses on working with high-achieving individuals such as business owners, executives, athletes, as well as couples, families, and those suffering loss. She established Evergreen Therapy to support and develop other mental health professionals and to provide experiential therapies such as equine psychotherapy, yoga therapy, and children’s play therapy and more. Further, she saw a need to help psychology students transition after graduation to the workforce and has committed to providing a place where graduate interns can complete degree requirements and where post graduates can pursue licensure requirements under Evergreen’s License Approved Supervisors.
Erin’s vast expertise in psychology has been featured in Forbes Health, Men’s Health, The New York Post, and more. She completed her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Richmond Graduate University. Holding a multitude of licenses and certifications, these include Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Specialist (LPC-MHSP), National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC), American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor, HOFSTEDE International Organizational Culture certified, and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapist.
On a personal note: Erin was born into a military family. She grew up relocating around the United States, always finding joy when riding horses and spending time in nature wherever her family lived. After they settled in North Carolina, Erin focused mainly on equestrian activities and competitions, pursuing competitive riding as an undergraduate at Sweet Briar College in Virginia before switching to the study of psychology at Covenant College in Chattanooga.
Aside from seeing clients, mentoring other therapists, running a business, and working on her farm, Erin also enjoys traveling, coaching and training horses and riders, riding competitively, engaging in the Chattanooga community in support of several non-profit organizations and regularly enjoying the beautiful nature trails.
