Meet Martha Law
LCSW
As a graduate of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, Martha brings over 4 years of therapy and counseling experience along with a deep understanding of the “recovery journey” having gone through it herself firsthand. She is passionate about helping people who struggle with substance abuse, addiction, depression, and LGBTQ issues. As a masters graduate of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, her goal is to continue growing as a therapist and counselor, ensuring all of her patients and their families feel supported, informed, and seen as they walk through their healing journey. Martha pulls from DBT, CBT, and strengths-based perspectives to help her clients work through the issues they face — she is also trained to offer EMDR therapy. By utilizing a person-centered approach, she enables her clients to step into their power while leveraging evidenced based modalities to guide the people toward their goals.
Martha sees clients on various interconnected issues such as parenting and parenting transitions (as a mother herself), navigating romantic relationships, those struggling with addiction, LGBTQ related issues, self-esteem, or anxiety, individuals suffering from trauma or depression, and even those dealing with mood disorders.
On a personal note:
Martha loves to stay physically healthy by running and participating in yoga regularly. She loves to spend a lot of her free time outdoors, whether it’s by herself or with her dog and daughter. Some of her favorite outdoor passions are hiking, camping, and spending time on the water. Growing up in Tennessee afforded her access to many of these things at a young age. Additionally, nature helped her navigate through her own life struggles in tandem with the help of support system and therapy. “I know what it feels like to be sitting on the other side of the couch. I want you all to feel comfortable and know you will be met with empathy and compassion.”
